One of the most common questions I get about flood insurance is if it is automatically included in a home insurance policy. Short answer: NO. In the state of South Carolina it is not included in your home insurance policy, so if you feel as though you need flood insurance, call your agent and get a separate flood insurance policy. Be aware that most flood insurance policies generally aren’t set up on auto-draft, so you will have to manually pay your renewal every year, and you will have to pay it all upfront.
